#59 Mocoa, Puerto Limón y La Pasera

Tras la avenida torrencial del 1 de abril de 2017 en Mocoa GlobalMedic pasó dos semanas en la zona capturando información con drones. Parte de esta información se pone a disposición de la comunidad de OpenStreetMap a fin de generar la cartografía de zonas aún no cubiertas por las demás imágenes satelitales y de drones capturadas hasta la fecha.

Salinas de Guaranda, also known as Salinas de Tomabela, is an Ecuadorian village at the altitude of 3550 m at the Andes in the province of Bolivar. It is known for its solidarity based economy and cooperative companies that produce cheeses, chocolates, dried mushrooms and fruits, alpaca wool yarn and textiles. The products are sold under the brand Salinerito.

#50 Deslizamientos Mocoa Colombia

En la noche del 31 de marzo, la creciente súbita y desbordamiento de los ríos Mocoa, Sangoyaco, Mulato, y de las quebradas Taruca, Taruquilla y la Misión seguido por una avalancha. Entre los días 5 y 11 de abril una misión de la Unidad de Mapeo Humanitario (#UMH) se desplazó a la zona de desastre y recolectó datos en terreno, los cuales están disponible en un TMS, trazas GPX e imágenes en Mapillay.

About the Tasking Manager

OSM Tasking Manager is a mapping tool designed and built for the Humanitarian OSM Team collaborative mapping. The purpose of the tool is to divide up a mapping job into smaller tasks that can be completed rapidly. It shows which areas need to be mapped and which areas need the mapping validated.

This approach facilitates the distribution of tasks to the various mappers in a context of emergency. It also permits control of the progress and the homogeneity of the work done (e.g. elements to cover, specific tags to use, etc.).


New to Mapping?

Just jump over to OpenStreetMap, create an account, and then visit the LearnOSM tutorials on the Tasking Manager and the iD editor. Alternatively check out the MapGive website which also provides information on the Tasking Manager and mapping. Once you have read up on how to map, come back here to help map for people on the ground!
