#83 Ituango / North / Antioquia

"We did a blind war for more than 60 years. Now we want a peace built with maps: know our (the) territory to rebuild it."

As we know, one of the problems of land holding in the country is related to the lack of information about the territory, specially in rural areas. Some of these areas are 20 years belated in land cadastre and the information that the state has, it’s information of difficult access for the people. For that reason, we want to invite the OpenStreetMap’s community to help us to make the basis map of the following municipalities: Nechí, Tarazá, Caucasia, Valdivia, El Bagre, Caceres, Zaragosa and Ituango. Municipalities of Antioquia’s Low Cauca and North where armed conflict, illegal mining, planting illicit crops and other problems associated with war have left countless victims and social problems. As part of the XIII anniversaries of OpenStreetMap we invite you to contribute to the peace of Colombia through the maps.

About the Tasking Manager

OSM Tasking Manager is a mapping tool designed and built for the Humanitarian OSM Team collaborative mapping. The purpose of the tool is to divide up a mapping job into smaller tasks that can be completed rapidly. It shows which areas need to be mapped and which areas need the mapping validated.

This approach facilitates the distribution of tasks to the various mappers in a context of emergency. It also permits control of the progress and the homogeneity of the work done (e.g. elements to cover, specific tags to use, etc.).

New to Mapping?

Just jump over to OpenStreetMap, create an account, and then visit the LearnOSM tutorials on the Tasking Manager and the iD editor. Alternatively check out the MapGive website which also provides information on the Tasking Manager and mapping. Once you have read up on how to map, come back here to help map for people on the ground!
